Hello, and welcome to my Medium profile! It’s been over half a year since I wrote an “about me” post, so I figured it was time for an update. I’ll be pinning this post to the top of my profile so that new and old readers alike can learn a bit more about me.
My name is Benya Clark, and I’m a lawyer turned test-prep teacher turned writer. I began my legal career as an assistant public defender, which had been my dream job since childhood. I ended up washing out in less than a year.
After leaving the public defender’s office, I started working as a test-prep teacher, focusing on the LSAT (the law school admission test for the United States and Canada). It was an absolutely wonderful job, but it disappeared because of the pandemic.
While working as a test prep teacher, I had started to blog as a hobby. After getting laid off, I decided to try out writing and blogging as a full-time job. It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I don’t make a lot of money from blogging, but I simply love doing it. My readership has grown a ton this year, beyond what I ever imagined when I first started doing this three years back.
