How to Never Miss A Post Again

Do you like my articles here on Medium? If so, you can now sign up to get an email notification each time I post. Check out the sign up form here.
I absolutely love reading on Medium, but one of my big frustrations with the site has always been that it’s sometimes hard to actually catch posts from writers that I “follow.” Sometimes I’ll visit a writer’s profile and suddenly discover months worth of posts that I somehow missed.
This also frustrates me as a writer, because I know that there are some readers out there who have missed my articles not because they aren’t interested, but because they simply didn’t realize I had posted something new.
Fortunately, Medium has been working hard to fix this problem. The site has spent the past year building “a more relational Medium.” One of the key aspects of this shift has been creating an email notification service.
Medium calls this “subscriptions,” and although they’ve been around for a little while, they were expanded this month. You can read all about them on Medium’s official blog.
Although these email subscriptions aren’t a perfect solution, they are a great step toward connecting readers and writers.
Why Subscribe?
If you enjoy my posts, I hope you’ll try out subscribing to email notifications. (It’s completely free!) You can subscribe by clicking the envelope icon under my profile picture, or by going to the sign up page here.
Once you’re signed up, you’ll get an email each time that I publish a new post on Medium. Even though you likely don’t want to read literally everything I write, this is a great way to make sure you don’t miss the posts that you do want to read.
No more logging into Medium only to discover that you’ve missed a month worth of articles. Now you can get notifications sent directly to your email.
If you change your mind, you can unsubscribe just as easily as you subscribed. I promise it won’t hurt my feelings.
I hope that you’ll give the notification system a try by subscribing now.
Thank you to everyone who has already signed up for notifications, and thanks to everyone for reading!
